Happy 4th of July!

For the 4th of July we never get to go anywhere... Benj always has to work. So we always try to find fun activities to do around here, which can be challenging because it's always SO HOT! So yesterday we started with the parade. The girls LOVED it, and getting candy of course. Some of the favorites were Curious George, Ariel, Elmo, and all the big balloons. It was hot, even in the shade, but it was fun. We dropped Benj off at work and then headed home for lunch and naps. When Benj got home we had a BBQ and all the festive food for a summer holiday. :)
Later in the afternoon we decided to go bowling up at Red Rock Casino. We have never taken the kids before, so they were excited... well Lexi was anyway. She LOVES bowling on the Wii and is quite good at it. And at Red Rock it's cosmic bowling, so the kids get a kick out of the black lights and stuff. Lexi did well her first time "real" bowling (with the bumpers up of course). Ava, she didn't want anything to do with it. But that is our Rooney for ya. Plus, it was getting to be her bed time and she is a child who begs to go to bed. Anyway, after our games we went outside to watch the firework show. It was great! Then we headed home to eat the red, white, and blue popsicles I had made earlier. I'm so thankful to live in this country and for the freedoms we can enjoy!!
